While ACYSO fields appreciated the rain that accompanied the storms on Monday, April 29th, it came at a price. The ACYSO Culebra Creek fields were left with a growing sinkhole deep enough and large enough for a golf cart to fit inside. ACYSO is in the process of having engineers monitor and look into the sinkhole situation. We hope to have this situation repaired as quickly as possible for the safety of the players at the complex. The fields surrounding the sinkhole will remain closed until repairs have been made. The area is being barricated off and we ask that everyone stay away from the sinkhole area. While we understand everyone's curiousity, it is not safe to allow anyone in that area.
The Culebra Creek that runs behind the ACYSO Culebra Creek Fields flooded and caused much debris and fullsize tree limbs to flood over the top of the Culebra Creek gates at the park entrance. ACYSO began the cleanup on Tuesday, 30 April of all the limbs and debris. We have much debris that was left behind on the fields and a lot of mud on the roadway that runs through our complex to cleanup. We hope to reopen on Thursday, May 2nd for practices for those teams who are still in Spring Season, heading to playoffs or are preparing for the ACYSO SeaWorld Shamu ShootOut.
We appreciate the ACYSO membership's patience and understanding while the practice fields are closed at this time. We will reopen as quickly as possible for practices.
Please continue to check back to the ACYSO website for updates on Field Status. Or you can call the ACYSO Rainout number at 542-9331.
